My passion for photography started at a very young age when I liked messing about with my parents' Voigtländer camera. My family was very supportive and I can't thank them enough. By the age of 13 I had my first Nikon FM and a fully fledged dark room built in a rarely used utility room at home. At 16 I was already working for the local pages of a national newspaper, getting into trouble a couple of times for skipping school to cover a story. When I moved to Rome to allegedly study law at university, I was instead spending all my time taking photos for a press agency, including work as a paparazzo. For the next 6 years I moved around central Italy and worked in various photography fields including fashion, food, architecture and portrait. My last job as a professional photographer was in the forensic police while doing my compulsory military service.

A big recession in the area meant that I decided to move on from still images to video and re-trained as a cameraman. However the TV production house I was working for happened to be in desperate need for a video editor and so I started teaching myself editing, out of necessity. The rest is history as they say... I have been an editor for 20 years now and I also do motion graphics design and teaching. For the last 16 years I have been a staff senior editor at BSkyB in London where I work on a variety of genres and formats, from sport to arts to movies-related shows and from long-form documentaries to fast-paced, music and graphics-driven openers and trailers. I do love editing for television but photography was my 'first love' and always will be.

Through my company Pronio UK Ltd I can offer work on a freelance basis in photography, video editing, motion graphics design and training.
